The devil wears a smile!

So, I went back to the passport office accounts employee. I had to collect my passport which I had applied for renewal. And he recognised me and greeted with a rather sarcastic: 'Good morning, madam.'

Yes, dear readers, I remembered your comments to my earlier post - some supportive, some in revolt.

Now I have two points to defend myself with:

Firstly, if he could use his position of a government employee - that comes with all the frills of a 'permanent' and 'secure' job - to harass me as an ordinary citizen, what's wrong if I use my position of a media professional to put him in his place?

Secondly, I have the right weapon - my press card - to shut him up and make him behave himself. If I don't use my weapon, I am accepting the injustice meted out to me. That way, I too am at fault. On the contrary, if I make him feel embarrassed for his actions, he will think twice before behaving the same way with you.

As for not noticing the right amount mentioned on the form, which triggered off the entire issue, I did apologise. I admitted it was my mistake. So there shouldn't be any reason for them to continue to ridicule me.

PS: Do you still think I was at fault for flashing my press card?
